अनुभूतानि चेष्टानि मया वीर सुखान्यपि ।
देवर्षिपितृविप्राणामनृणोऽस्मि तथात्मनः ॥२-४-१४॥
anubhūtāni ceṣṭāni mayā vīra sukhānyapi |
devarṣipitṛviprāṇāmanṛṇo'smi tathātmanaḥ ॥2-4-14॥
Translation
"O Hero! I have experienced desired pleasures and joys. I am free from the debts to the Gods, Sages, Ancestors, and Brahmanas, as well as to myself."

"हे वीर! मैंने इष्ट भोगों और सुखों का अनुभव कर लिया है। मैं देवताओं, ऋषियों, पितरों और ब्राह्मणों के ऋण से तथा अपने (आत्म) ऋण से भी मुक्त हो गया हूँ।"
English Commentary
Dasharatha enumerates his liberation from the fundamental debts (Rinas) of Hindu theology. He has paid the debt to Devas through yajnas, to Rishis through study, and to Pitrs (ancestors) by siring a son like Rama. He also mentions the debt to self (atmanah), implying he has enjoyed life’s pleasures (sukhani) and has no lingering worldly cravings. This declaration serves as a justification for his retirement. He tells Rama, "I have done everything I needed to do; only your coronation remains to complete my dharma."

हिन्दू धर्मशास्त्रों के अनुसार मनुष्य पर जन्म से तीन ऋण होते हैं: देव ऋण (यज्ञ से मुक्ति), ऋषि ऋण (स्वाध्याय से मुक्ति), और पितृ ऋण (संतान उत्पत्ति से मुक्ति)। दशरथ कहते हैं कि उन्होंने ये तीनों ऋण चुका दिए हैं, और ब्राह्मणों/समाज का ऋण भी दान से चुका दिया है। 'आत्मनः' (स्वयं के) ऋण से मुक्ति का अर्थ है कि उन्होंने जीवन के सुखों का भी भोग कर लिया है, कोई अतृप्त कामना शेष नहीं है। अब वे वानप्रस्थ या मृत्यु के लिए तैयार हैं, बस राम का अभिषेक देखना चाहते हैं। यह श्लोक दशरथ की मानसिक तैयारी को दर्शाता है।
