श्व एव पुष्यो भविता श्वोऽभिषेच्यस्तु मे सुतः ।
रामो राजीवताम्राक्षो यौवराज्य इति प्रभुः ॥२-४-२॥
śva eva puṣyo bhavitā śvo'bhiṣecyastu me sutaḥ । rāmo rājīvatāmrākṣo yauvarājya iti prabhuḥ ॥2-4-2॥
Translation
The Lord (Dasharatha made the resolve that): Tomorrow will be the Pushya asterism, and (therefore) my son Rama, whose eyes are reddish like a lotus, shall be consecrated as the Crown Prince tomorrow.

प्रभु (दशरथ ने निश्चय किया कि): कल ही पुष्य नक्षत्र होगा और (इसलिए) कमल के समान लाल आँखों वाला मेरा पुत्र राम कल ही युवराज पद पर अभिषिक्त होगा।
English Commentary
This verse reveals the firm resolve made by Maharaja Dasharatha after his final consultation with his ministers in the Ayodhya Kanda. This resolve is the declaration of the auspicious timing for the coronation. Maharaja Dasharatha, who is referred to as 'Prabhu' (the capable ruler), declares that the highly auspicious Pushya asterism will occur tomorrow (śvaḥ), and in this propitious conjunction, his son Shri Rama shall be consecrated as the Crown Prince. Shri Rama is described here as 'rājīvatāmrākṣaḥ' (whose eyes are reddish like a lotus), denoting his beauty and radiance. This immediate decision reveals the King's strong desire to bestow the royal authority upon his beloved son without delay, having chosen the most auspicious time. It indicates that all preparations, both administrative and astrological, have been completed, and now only the formalities of the consecration remain.

यह श्लोक अयोध्याकाण्ड में महाराज दशरथ द्वारा मंत्रियों के साथ अंतिम मन्त्रणा के बाद लिए गए निश्चित निश्चय को प्रकट करता है। यह निश्चय उस शुभ मुहूर्त की घोषणा है जिस पर राज्याभिषेक संपन्न होना है। महाराज दशरथ, जो 'प्रभु' (समर्थ शासक) हैं, घोषणा करते हैं कि अगले दिन (श्वः) ही अत्यंत शुभ पुष्य नक्षत्र होगा, और इसी शुभ योग में उनके पुत्र श्रीराम का अभिषेक युवराज पद पर किया जाएगा। यहाँ श्रीराम का वर्णन 'राजीवताम्राक्षः' (कमल के समान लाल आँखों वाला) कहकर किया गया है, जो उनकी सुंदरता और तेजस्विता को दर्शाता है। यह तात्कालिक निश्चय राजा की अदम्य इच्छा को प्रकट करता है कि वे बिना किसी विलंब के, शुभ समय का चयन करके, अपने अत्यंत प्रिय पुत्र को राज्याधिकार सौंपना चाहते हैं। यह दर्शाता है कि प्रशासनिक और ज्योतिषीय दोनों दृष्टियों से सभी तैयारियां पूरी हो चुकी हैं, और अब केवल अभिषेक की औपचारिकताओं को पूरा करना शेष है।
