Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
तथैवायुधजालानि भ्रातृभ्याम् कवचानि च ।
रथोपस्थे प्रतिन्यस्य सचर्म कठिनम् च तत् ॥ ॥२-४०-१६॥
tathaivāyudhajālāni bhrātṛbhyām kavacāni ca |
rathopasthe pratinyasya sacarma kaṭhinam ca tat ॥2-40-16॥
Translation
(Repetition/Emphasis) Likewise, the variety of weapons, armor, shields, and digging tools were placed securely in the chariot by the two brothers.
हिंदी अनुवाद
(पुनरावृत्ति) और उसी प्रकार, दोनों भाइयों ने हथियारों के समूह, कवच, ढाल और वन के लिए आवश्यक उपकरणों को रथ के मध्य भाग में सुरक्षित रख लिया।
English Commentary
While textually similar to verse 14, the repetition in the narrative flow emphasizes the thoroughness of their preparation. They are leaving civilization behind. The mention of ayudhajalani (net/collection of weapons) confirms that they are taking a substantial arsenal, foreshadowing the great wars to be fought in Dandakaranya and Lanka. The chariot is now fully loaded—physically with gear, and metaphorically with destiny.

यह श्लोक 14 की पुनरावृत्ति प्रतीत होता है (जैसा पाठ में दिया गया है), लेकिन यह प्रसंग की गंभीरता को बढ़ाता है। यह दर्शाता है कि वन गमन की तैयारी पूरी हो चुकी है। अस्त्र-शस्त्रों का बार-बार उल्लेख यह संकेत देता है कि आने वाला समय संघर्षपूर्ण होगा। राम केवल वनवासी नहीं, अपितु वन में धर्म की स्थापना करने वाले योद्धा भी होंगे।
