Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
अथ राजा वृतः स्त्रीभिर्दीनाभिर्दीनचेतनः ।
निर्जगाम प्रियम् पुत्रम् द्रक्ष्यामि इति ब्रुवन् गृहात् ॥ ॥२-४०-२८॥
atha rājā vṛtaḥ strībhir dīnābhir dīna cetanaḥ |
nirjagāma priyam putram drakṣyāmi iti bruvan gṛhāt ॥2-40-28॥
Translation
Then the King, distraught in mind and surrounded by sorrowful women, rushed out of the house saying, "I will see my beloved son!"
हिंदी अनुवाद
तब दीन चित्त वाले राजा, दुखी रानियों से घिरे हुए, "मैं अपने प्रिय पुत्र को देखूँगा"—ऐसा कहते हुए घर (महल) से बाहर निकल पड़े।
English Commentary
Dasharatha breaks all royal protocol. Overcome by impending separation, he rushes out screaming his intent to see his son one last time. The repetition of his miserable state emphasizes that he is no longer the mighty Emperor, but just a desperate father trying to catch a fading glimpse of his life's joy before it vanishes into the forest.
हिंदी टीका
राजा दशरथ अब मर्यादा और राजसी प्रोटोकॉल से परे जा चुके हैं। जो राजा कभी सिंहासन से नहीं उठते थे, वे अब "पुत्रम् द्रक्ष्यामि" (मैं पुत्र को देखूँगा) चिल्लाते हुए नंगे पाँव बाहर दौड़ पड़े हैं। यह पुत्र-मोह और आसन्न वियोग का पागलपन है। वे अंतिम बार राम की छवि अपनी आँखों में बसा लेना चाहते हैं, शायद उन्हें आभास है कि यह अंतिम मिलन हो सकता है।
