Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
न वाति पवनः शीतो न शशी सौम्यदर्शनः ।
न सूर्यस्तपते लोकं सर्वं पर्याकुलं जगत् ॥ ॥२-४१-१८॥
Na vāti pavanaḥ śīto na śaśī saumayadarśanaḥ । Na sūryastapate lokam sarvam paryākulam jagat ॥ ॥2-41-18॥
Translation
The cool breeze did not blow, the moon did not look pleasing, and the sun did not warm the world. The entire world was in a state of agitation.
हिंदी अनुवाद
न ठंडी हवा बह रही थी, न चंद्रमा सौम्य (शीतल) लग रहा था, और न ही सूर्य दुनिया को (उचित) ताप दे रहा था। सारा संसार ही व्याकुल हो गया था।
English Commentary
The pathetic fallacy intensifies. The fundamental elements of nature—wind, moon, and sun—seem to have malfunctioned or lost their comforting qualities. The breeze offers no relief, the moon offers no beauty, and the sun offers no warmth. This reflects the psychological state of the observers: when the heart is broken, the world loses its sensory appeal. The entire environment feels hostile or indifferent ("agitated").

प्रकृति के संतुलन का बिगड़ना जारी है। हवा, चंद्र और सूर्य—जो जीवन के आधार हैं—वे अपने स्वाभाविक गुण खो चुके हैं। हवा में शीतलता नहीं रही (यानी वह दाहक हो गई या रुक गई), चंद्रमा की चांदनी में सुकून नहीं रहा, और सूर्य का प्रकाश निस्तेज हो गया। जब मन दुखी होता है, तो प्रकृति का सौंदर्य भी कष्टदायक या फीका लगता है। यह 'पर्याकुलं जगत्' (बेचैन संसार) उस आंतरिक उथल-पुथल का आईना है।
