Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
अनर्थिनः सुताः स्त्रीणां भर्तारो भ्रातरस्तथा ।
सर्वे सर्वं परित्यज्य राममेवान्वचिन्तयन् ॥ ॥२-४१-१९॥
Anarthinaḥ sutāḥ strīṇām bhartāro bhrātarastathā । Sarve sarvaṃ parityajya rāmamevānvacintayan ॥ ॥2-41-19॥
Translation
Sons, husbands, and brothers became objects of indifference to the women. Abandoning everything else, everyone thought only of Rama.
हिंदी अनुवाद
स्त्रियों को न अपने पुत्रों की चाह रही, न पतियों की और न ही भाइयों की। सभी लोग सब कुछ त्यागकर केवल राम का ही चिंतन कर रहे थे।
English Commentary
The depth of devotion to Rama is shown to transcend the strongest biological and social bonds. Women, usually the anchors of family life, became indifferent (anarthinah) to their own sons, husbands, and brothers. The obsession with Rama's exile was so total that it temporarily severed domestic attachments. It signifies that Rama was not just a political figure but the emotional center of every household; his loss was felt more keenly than the neglect of one's own kin.

यह श्लोक राम के प्रति प्रेम की गहनता को पारिवारिक मोह से भी ऊपर रखता है। सामान्यतः स्त्रियां पुत्र और पति में आसक्त रहती हैं, लेकिन राम-वियोग के उस क्षण में ये सभी प्राथमिक रिश्ते गौण (अनर्थिनः) हो गए। घर-परिवार की सुध-बुध बिसराकर, हर व्यक्ति केवल राम के बारे में सोच रहा था। यह दर्शाता है कि राम केवल राजा नहीं, बल्कि जन-जन के 'आत्मा' थे।
