अनाथस्य जनस्य अस्य दुर्बलस्य तपस्विनः ।
यो गतिः शरणं चासीत् स नाथः क्व नु गच्छति ॥ ॥२-४१-२॥
Anāthasya janasya asya durbalasya tapasvinaḥ । Yo gatiḥ śaraṇam cāsīt sa nāthaḥ kva nu gacchati ॥ ॥2-41-2॥
Translation
Where is that Lord going, who was the refuge and shelter for the orphans, the weak, and the ascetics?

जो अनाथों, दुर्बलों और तपस्वियों के लिए एकमात्र सहारा और रक्षक थे, वे हमारे 'नाथ' (स्वामी) हमें छोड़कर कहाँ जा रहे हैं?
English Commentary
The lamenting women define Rama not by his lineage, but by his function as a protector. He was the sanctuary for the anatha (helpless), the weak, and the ascetics. By asking 'Where is he going?', they are expressing a collective existential dread. Without Rama, the vulnerable sections of society—and the women themselves—feel exposed and defenseless. It highlights Rama’s role as the moral and physical anchor of Ayodhya.

रनिवास की स्त्रियां राम के गुणों को याद कर रही हैं। राम केवल राजकुमार नहीं थे, वे 'नाथ' (रक्षक) थे। यहाँ राम के क्षत्रिय धर्म की प्रशंसा है—वे अनाथों और कमजोरों का संबल थे। महल की स्त्रियां स्वयं को भी अब 'अनाथ' महसूस कर रही हैं क्योंकि उनका रक्षक चला गया है। यह श्लोक बताता है कि राम की शक्ति का स्रोत उनका बाहुबल नहीं, बल्कि उनकी करुणा और रक्षण-क्षमता थी।
