न क्रुध्यत्यभिशस्तोऽपि क्रोधनीयानि वर्जयन् ।
क्रुद्धान् प्रसादयन् सर्वान् समदुःखः क्व गच्छति ॥ ॥२-४१-३॥
Na krudhyatyabhiśasto'pi krodhanīyāni varjayan । Kruddhān prasādayan sarvān samaduḥkhaḥ kva gacchati ॥ ॥2-41-3॥
Translation
He who does not get angry even when insulted, who avoids actions that provoke anger, who pacifies those who are angry, and who shares everyone's sorrow—where is he going?
हिंदी अनुवाद
जो अपमानित होने पर भी क्रोध नहीं करते, जो क्रोध दिलाने वाले कार्यों से बचते हैं, और जो दूसरों को क्रोधित देख उन्हें शांत करते हैं तथा सबके दुःख को अपना समझते हैं, वे राम कहाँ जा रहे हैं?
English Commentary
This verse is a beautiful tribute to Rama's emotional intelligence and forbearance. The women recall that Rama never retaliated, even when insulted (abhisastopi). He possessed the unique ability to de-escalate conflict ('pacifies those who are angry') rather than fueling it. The term samadukhah implies empathy—he felt the pain of others as his own. Losing a leader with such high emotional control and compassion is what terrifies the palace household.

यह राम के 'जितेंद्रिय' (इंद्रियों को जीतने वाले) स्वभाव का वर्णन है। रनिवास की स्त्रियां याद कर रही हैं कि राम कभी भी कटु वचनों का उत्तर क्रोध से नहीं देते थे। 'अभिशस्तोऽपि' (गाली देने पर भी) शांत रहना असाधारण गुण है। वे न केवल स्वयं शांत रहते थे, बल्कि दूसरों के क्रोध को भी शांत करते थे (जैसे लक्ष्मण का क्रोध)। 'समदुःखः' बताता है कि वे प्रजा के दुःख में दुखी होते थे। ऐसे संवेदनशील व्यक्ति का जाना सबके लिए व्यक्तिगत क्षति है।
