निवृत्तवनवासं तं द्रष्टासि पुनरागतम् ।
जहि शोकं च मोहं च देवि सत्यं ब्रवीमि ते ॥ ॥२-४४-२१॥
nivṛttavanavāsaṃ taṃ draṣṭāsi punarāgatam । jahi śokaṃ ca mohaṃ ca devi satyaṃ bravīmi te ॥ ॥2-44-21॥
Translation
You will certainly see him returned after completing his forest exile. Cast away your grief and delusion, O Queen; I speak the truth to you.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे देवी! आप वनवास पूरा करके पुनः लौटे हुए राम को अवश्य देखेंगी। आप शोक और मोह का त्याग कर दें; मैं आपसे सत्य कह रही हूँ।
English Commentary
Sumitra speaks with the confidence of a seer. By using the phrase satyam bravimi te ("I speak the truth to you"), she aims to eradicate the uncertainty plaguing Kausalya's mind. She advises Kausalya to abandon moha (delusion/attachment), identifying it as the root of her overwhelming grief. This statement proves Sumitra is not just a queen but a wise and far-sighted woman who remains grounded in truth and reason even amidst an emotional crisis within the royal family.

यहाँ सुमित्रा की वाणी में भविष्यवक्ता जैसा आत्मविश्वास है। 'सत्यं ब्रवीमि ते' (मैं आपसे सत्य कहती हूँ) का प्रयोग करके वे कौशल्या के मन से अनिश्चितता को मिटाना चाहती हैं। वे कौशल्या को 'मोह' (भ्रम) त्यागने को कहती हैं, क्योंकि यह मोह ही अत्यधिक दुःख का कारण है। सुमित्रा का यह कथन सिद्ध करता है कि वे न केवल एक रानी हैं, बल्कि एक विवेकी और दूरदर्शी महिला भी हैं जो भावनात्मक संकट के समय में भी सत्य पर अडिग हैं।
