Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
नार्हा त्वं शोचितुं देवि यस्यास्ते राघवः सुतः ।
न हि रामात्परो लोके विद्यते सत्पथे स्थितः ॥ ॥२-४४-२६॥
nārhā tvaṃ śocituṃ devi yasyāste rāghavaḥ sutaḥ । na hi rāmātparo loke vidyate satpathe sthitaḥ ॥ ॥2-44-26॥
Translation
You ought not to grieve, O Queen, for Raghava is your son. Indeed, there is no one in this world greater than Rama who abides on the path of truth.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे देवी! आप शोक करने योग्य नहीं हैं, क्योंकि राघव (राम) आपके पुत्र हैं। संसार में राम से बढ़कर सन्मार्ग पर स्थित रहने वाला दूसरा कोई नहीं है।
English Commentary
Sumitra reframes Kausalya's motherhood as a source of pride rather than grief. Having a son like Raghava is such a monumental blessing that sorrow should not overshadow it. She emphasizes that Rama is satpathe sthitah (established on the righteous path), and one who upholds Dharma is always protected. This verse posits that being the mother of a virtually perfect being is a strength that should empower Kausalya to endure the separation with dignity.

सुमित्रा कौशल्या के मातृत्व को गौरव का विषय बताती हैं, न कि शोक का। 'राघव' जैसा पुत्र होना ही अपने आप में इतना बड़ा संबल है कि दुःख पास नहीं आना चाहिए। राम 'सत्पथे स्थितः' (सत्य/धर्म के मार्ग पर स्थित) हैं; और धर्म पर चलने वाले का कभी बुरा नहीं होता। यह श्लोक इस सिद्धांत को प्रतिपादित करता है कि महान संतान की माता होना एक शक्ति है जो हर कष्ट को सहन करने का साहस देती है।
