कर्णवन्ति हि भूतानि विशेषण तुरम्गमाः ।
यूयम् तस्मान्निवर्तध्वम् याचनाम् प्रतिवेदिताः ॥२-४५-१५॥
karṇavanti hi bhūtāni viśeṣaṇa turaṃgamāḥ |
yūyam tasmān nivartadhvam yācanām prativeditāḥ ॥2-45-15॥
Translation
Indeed, all beings possess ears, especially horses. Therefore, having become aware of this entreaty, all of you turn back.

निःसंदेह सभी प्राणी कान वाले होते हैं, और विशेष रूप से घोड़े। इसलिए, मेरी इस प्रार्थना को जानकर तुम सब लौट जाओ।
English Commentary
The Brahmins' belief that even horses could hear their prayers reflects the ancient Indian cultural value of respect and consciousness in all living beings. They argue that if ordinary beings can hear, then the specially trained and intelligent horses (turaṃgamāḥ) will surely understand their 'entreaty' (yācanām). This verse further highlights their desperation, as they appeal to the consciousness of animals, having failed with human reasoning, in order to prevent Rāma from being taken away from Ayodhyā.

ब्राह्मणों का यह विश्वास कि घोड़े भी उनकी प्रार्थना सुन सकते हैं, प्राचीन भारतीय संस्कृति में सभी प्राणियों के प्रति सम्मान और चेतना की भावना को दर्शाता है। वे तर्क करते हैं कि यदि सामान्य प्राणी भी सुन सकते हैं, तो विशेष रूप से प्रशिक्षित और समझदार घोड़े (turaṃgamāḥ) तो उनकी 'प्रार्थना' (yācanām) को निश्चित रूप से समझ जाएँगे। यह श्लोक उनकी हताशा को और उजागर करता है, क्योंकि वे मानवीय तर्क से विफल होने पर पशुओं की चेतना से अपील कर रहे हैं, ताकि राम को अयोध्या से दूर न ले जाया जा सके।
