Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
भक्तिमन्ति हि भूतानि जम्गम अजम्गमानि च ।
याचमानेषु तेषु त्वम् भक्तिम् भक्तेषु दर्शय ॥ ॥२-४५-२९॥
Bhaktimanti hi bhūtāni jamgama ajamgamāni ca । Yācamāneṣu teṣu tvam bhaktim bhakteṣu darśaya ॥ ॥2-45-29॥
Translation
Indeed, all beings, moving and unmoving (animate and inanimate), possess devotion towards you. Show your affection to these devotees who are pleading with you.

(केवल हम ही नहीं) चर और अचर (जड़ और चेतन) सभी प्राणी आप में भक्ति रखते हैं। आप से याचना करने वाले उन भक्तों पर आप भी अपना स्नेह दिखाइए।
English Commentary
The scope of devotion is expanded here to include the entire cosmos—both animate (Jangama) and inanimate (Ajangama). The citizens argue that Rama's charisma and divinity have touched everything, including nature itself. They appeal to Rama's reciprocal duty: if the entire world loves him, he must respond to that love with compassion. It frames Rama not just as a political leader, but as the soul of the universe, whose departure causes distress to all creation, urging him to validate their devotion by staying.

यहाँ भक्ति का दायरा मनुष्यों से आगे बढ़कर प्रकृति तक विस्तृत हो गया है। 'जंगम' (चलने वाले जीव) और 'अजंगम' (वृक्ष, पर्वत आदि) सभी राम के वियोग में दुखी हैं। भक्त राम से 'भक्तवत्सलता' की मांग कर रहे हैं। वे कहते हैं कि प्रेम एकतरफा नहीं हो सकता; यदि पूरी सृष्टि आपको चाहती है, तो आपको भी उस प्रेम का मान रखना चाहिए। यह श्लोक राम के विराट स्वरूप और उनकी सर्वव्यापकता की ओर संकेत करता है—वे केवल अयोध्या के राजकुमार नहीं, बल्कि समस्त चराचर जगत के प्रिय हैं।
