अथ रामोऽब्रवीच्छ्रीमान् सुमन्त्रम् युज्यताम् रथः ।
गमिष्यामि ततोऽरण्यम् गच्छ शीघ्रम् इतः प्रभो ॥ ॥२-४६-२५॥
Atha rāmo'bravīcchrīmān sumantram yujyatām rathaḥ । Gamiṣyāmi tato'raṇyam gaccha śīghram itaḥ prabho ॥ ॥2-46-25॥
Translation
Then the glorious Rama said to Sumantra, "Yoke the chariot. I shall proceed from here to the forest. O capable one, go quickly from this place."
हिंदी अनुवाद
इसके पश्चात श्रीमान राम ने सुमंत्र से कहा—"रथ जोतो (तैयार करो)। मैं यहाँ से वन को जाऊँगा। हे समर्थ (प्रभो)! यहाँ से शीघ्र चलो।"
English Commentary
Rama executes the plan decisively. Addressing Sumantra with respect (Prabho), he orders the chariot to be readied immediately. The instruction "go quickly from here" reflects the urgency to leave before the citizens wake up. This moment signifies the point of no return; the hesitation is over, and the journey into the deep forest truly begins.

राम अब 'श्रीमान' (शोभा संपन्न/राजसी) रूप में आदेश दे रहे हैं। निर्णय ले लिया गया है और अब क्रियान्वयन का समय है। वे सुमंत्र को 'प्रभो' (समर्थ) कहते हैं, जो सारथी के लिए सम्मानसूचक है। 'गमिष्यामि ततो'—अब दिशा स्पष्ट है: वन की ओर। यह क्षण अयोध्या से अंतिम विदाई का है। इसके बाद राम और अयोध्या का संपर्क 14 वर्षों के लिए पूरी तरह टूट जाएगा।
