Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
स सम्तीर्य महाबाहुः श्रीमान् शिवमकण्टकम् ।
प्रापद्यत महामार्गमभयम् भयदर्शिनाम् ॥ ॥२-४६-२९॥
sa samtīrya mahābāhuḥ śrīmān śivam akaṇṭakam |
prāpadyata mahāmārgam abhayam bhayadarśinām ॥2-46-29॥
Translation
Having crossed over, the mighty-armed and glorious Rama reached a safe, thornless highway—a path that offers fearlessness even to those who perceive fear.
हिंदी अनुवाद
नदी पार करके उन महाबाहु श्रीमान् (राम) ने उस महामार्ग को प्राप्त किया जो कल्याणमय, काँटों (बाधाओं) से रहित और भय देखने वालों के लिए भी अभय (सुरक्षित) था।
English Commentary
This verse emphasizes the transformative presence of Rama. Although heading into the wild, the path is described as akaṇṭakam (thornless/obstacle-free) and shivam (auspicious). The phrase abhayam bhayadarśinām is profound—it suggests that the great highway creates fearlessness even for those who are usually timid, or that Rama's very presence negates the inherent dangers of the wild. It symbolizes that the path of truth (Satya), though seemingly harsh, is ultimately the safest refuge.

यह श्लोक राम के चरित्र और उनके मार्ग की पवित्रता को दर्शाता है। वन का मार्ग भले ही कठिन हो, लेकिन राम के लिए वह 'अकण्टकम्' (बाधा रहित) और 'शिवम्' (कल्याणकारी) है क्योंकि वे धर्म के पथ पर हैं। 'अभयम् भयदर्शिनाम्' का अर्थ है कि जहाँ दूसरों को भय दिखता है, राम की उपस्थिति उस मार्ग को भी निर्भय बना देती है। यह आध्यात्मिक अर्थ भी रखता है कि धर्म का मार्ग अंततः सुरक्षित और भयमुक्त होता है।
