काननम् वा अपि शैलम् वा यम् रामः अभिगमिष्यति ।
प्रिय अतिथिम् इव प्राप्तम् न एनम् शक्ष्यन्ति अनर्चितुम् ॥ ॥२-४८-११॥
kānanaṃ vā api śailaṃ vā yam rāmaḥ abhigamiṣyati । priya atithim iva prāptam na enam śakṣyanti anarcitum ॥ ॥2-48-11॥
Translation
Whether it be a forest or a mountain, whichever place Rama approaches, they will not be able to refrain from worshipping him as they would a beloved guest.
हिंदी अनुवाद
चाहे वन हो या पर्वत, जहाँ-जहाँ भी श्री राम जाएंगे, वे (वन और पर्वत) एक प्रिय अतिथि की भाँति प्राप्त हुए राम का सत्कार (पूजन) किए बिना नहीं रह सकेंगे।
English Commentary
This verse projects the cultural value of Atithi Satkar (guest worship) onto nature itself. The citizens assert that the charisma and divinity of Rama are so compelling that even inanimate mountains and forests cannot resist the urge to honor him. The phrasing "will not be able to refrain from worshipping" implies a compulsion born of love and duty. It reinforces the idea that Rama is the universal guest, welcome everywhere in creation, even if he has been exiled from his own specific kingdom.

भारतीय संस्कृति में 'अतिथि देवो भव' एक प्रमुख संस्कार है। अयोध्यावासी कहते हैं कि जड़ प्रकृति (वन और पर्वत) भी इस धर्म को निभाएगी। जैसे एक गृहस्थ अपने प्रिय अतिथि का स्वागत करने को बाध्य हो जाता है, वैसे ही प्रकृति राम के आकर्षण और तेज से प्रभावित होकर उनकी 'अर्चना' (पूजा/सत्कार) करेगी। यहाँ राम के प्रति 'प्रिय' विशेषण का उपयोग यह बताता है कि राम केवल आदरणीय ही नहीं, बल्कि सबके लिए अत्यंत प्रिय भी हैं, जिससे उनका अनादर करना किसी के लिए भी संभव नहीं है।
