विचित्र कुसुम आपीडा बहु मन्जलि धारिणः ।
अकाले च अपि मुख्यानि पुष्पाणि च फलानि च ॥ ॥२-४८-१२॥
vicitra kusuma āpīḍā bahu manjali dhāriṇaḥ । akāle ca api mukhyāni puṣpāṇi ca phalani ca ॥ ॥2-48-12॥
Translation
Trees, wearing wreaths of various flowers and bearing many clusters of blossoms, will produce prime flowers and fruits even out of season.
हिंदी अनुवाद
विविध प्रकार के फूलों के गुच्छों और बहुत सी मंजरियों को धारण करने वाले वृक्ष (राम के लिए) असमय (बिना ऋतु के) भी मुख्य फूल और फल धारण करेंगे।
English Commentary
Here, the text employs the "pathetic fallacy," attributing human emotion and intent to nature. The trees are described as breaking the laws of seasons (akaale) to serve Rama. Usually, nature follows a strict cycle, but the presence of the Dharma-atma (soul of righteousness) compels the trees to bloom and fruit prematurely to offer him sustenance and beauty. It suggests that the cosmic order (Rita) bends to accommodate the comfort of the Lord when he is in distress or travel.

यह श्लोक प्रकृति द्वारा नियमों के उल्लंघन की बात करता है, केवल प्रेम के कारण। सामान्यतः वृक्ष ऋतु आने पर ही फल-फूल देते हैं। किन्तु राम के वन में प्रवेश करते ही, वृक्ष अपना प्राकृतिक धर्म छोड़कर 'भक्ति धर्म' अपना लेंगे और 'अकाले' (बिना मौसम के) भी फल-फूल प्रदान करेंगे। यह 'पाथेय' (कवि की कल्पना) दर्शाता है कि परमात्मा के सानिध्य में प्रकृति के नियम भी बदल जाते हैं। यह राम के प्रति प्रकृति की संवेदनशीलता और सेवा भाव का चरम उदाहरण है।
