Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
अकाले चापि मुख्यानि पुष्पाणि च फलानि च ।
दर्शयिष्यन्ति अनुक्रोशात् गिरयो रामम् आगतम् ॥ ॥२-४८-१३॥
akāle cāpi mukhyāni puṣpāṇi ca phalani ca । darśayiṣyanti anukrośāt girayo rāmam āgatam ॥ ॥2-48-13॥
Translation
Seeing Rama arrived, the mountains, out of compassion, will display (offer) prime flowers and fruits produced even out of season.
हिंदी अनुवाद
श्री राम को आया हुआ देखकर, पर्वत दयावश (अनुक्रोश से) असमय में ही उत्पन्न हुए उत्तम फल और फूल उन्हें दिखाएंगे (भेंट करेंगे)।
English Commentary
The key word in this verse is anukroshat (out of compassion or pity). The citizens personify the mountains as benevolent hosts who feel pity for the exiled prince. Upon seeing Rama, the mountains will offer their bounty. There is a poignant contrast implied here: the rugged, inanimate mountains show compassion to Rama by altering their seasonal cycles, whereas the human hearts in the palace of Ayodhya (specifically Kaikeyi) remained hard and unyielding. Nature compensates for human cruelty.

पिछले श्लोक के भाव को विस्तार देते हुए, यहाँ 'अनुक्रोशात्' (दया/करुणा के कारण) शब्द अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण है। अयोध्यावासी मानते हैं कि पर्वत कठोर होते हुए भी राम की सुकुमारता और उनकी स्थिति देखकर द्रवित हो उठेंगे। पर्वतों को यह आभास होगा कि एक राजकुमार वन में आया है, इसलिए वे दयाभाव से अपने फल-फूल प्रस्तुत करेंगे। यह व्यंग्य भी है कि पत्थर के पर्वत राम पर दया करेंगे, लेकिन कैकेयी और राजा दशरथ का हृदय नहीं पसीजा।
