Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
पादपाः पर्वत अग्रेषु रमयिष्यन्ति राघवम् ।
यत्र रामः भयम् न अत्र न अस्ति तत्र पराभवः ॥ ॥२-४८-१५॥
pādapāḥ parvata agreṣu ramayiṣyanti rāghavam । yatra rāmaḥ bhayam na atra na asti tatra parābhavaḥ ॥ ॥2-48-15॥
Translation
The trees on the mountain peaks will delight Raghava. Where there is Rama, there is no fear; nor is there defeat.
हिंदी अनुवाद
पर्वतों के शिखरों पर स्थित वृक्ष राघव (राम) का मन बहलाएंगे। जहाँ राम हैं, वहाँ न तो भय है और न ही पराजय।
English Commentary
This verse transitions from the beauty of nature to the power of Rama. While the trees entertain him, the citizens affirm a profound theological and practical truth: Yatra Ramah bhayam na atra (Where Rama is, there is no fear). This captures the essence of Rama as the protector. The citizens realize they need not fear for Rama's safety in the wild; rather, the wild becomes safe because of Rama. His presence negates fear and defeat (parabhavah), asserting his invincibility even in exile.

यह श्लोक राम के चरित्र के मूल तत्व 'अभय' को उजागर करता है। पहली पंक्ति में प्रकृति द्वारा राम के मनोरंजन की बात है, लेकिन दूसरी पंक्ति एक सार्वभौमिक सत्य है—'यत्र रामः भयम् न अत्र'। प्रजा जानती है कि राम को वन के हिंसक पशुओं या राक्षसों से कोई खतरा नहीं है, क्योंकि राम स्वयं महाबाहु और पराक्रमी हैं। जहाँ राम उपस्थित हैं, वहाँ भय का अस्तित्व ही मिट जाता है। यह पंक्ति भारतीय जनमानस में एक महावाक्य की तरह गूँजती है, जो राम की रक्षक छवि को स्थापित करती है।
