कदा अहम् पुनर् आगम्य सरय्वाः पुष्पिते वने ।
मृगयाम् पर्याटष्यामि मात्रा पित्रा च सम्गतः ॥ ॥२-४९-१५॥
Kadā aham punar āgamya sarayvāḥ puṣpite vane |
Mṛgayām paryāṭaṣyāmi mātrā pitrā ca samgataḥ ॥2-49-15॥
Translation
"When shall I, having returned and reunited with my mother and father, wander again in the flowering forests of the Sarayu for hunting?"
हिंदी अनुवाद
"मैं कब पुनः लौटकर, माता और पिता के साथ मिलकर, सरयू के पुष्पित वनों में आखेट (शिकार) के लिए भ्रमण करूँगा?"
English Commentary
This verse reveals Rama's deep longing and optimism. Barely having left, he is already visualizing his return. The phrase mātrā pitrā ca samgataḥ (reunited with mother and father) is strikingly poignant. It shows that Rama harbors no ill will toward Dasharatha. Instead of anger, he holds onto the cherished memories of family time and hunting in the Sarayu forests. It underscores his belief that this exile is temporary and that the family bond will survive this ordeal.

यह श्लोक राम के मानवीय पक्ष और उनके आशावादी दृष्टिकोण को उजागर करता है। वनवास की शुरुआत में ही वे वापसी ('पुनर् आगम्य') की बात कर रहे हैं। सबसे मार्मिक बात यह है कि वे 'पित्रा च सम्गतः' (पिता के साथ मिलकर) कह रहे हैं। जिस पिता ने उन्हें निकाला, उनके प्रति राम के मन में कोई द्वेष नहीं है, बल्कि वे उनके साथ वन-विहार की स्मृति को याद कर रहे हैं। यह उनकी निश्छल प्रेम भावना को दर्शाता है।
