निवृत्तवनवासस्त्वामनृणो जगतीपतेः ।
पुनर्ध्रक्ष्यामि मात्रा च पित्रा च सह सम्गतः ॥ ॥२-५०-३॥
Nivṛtta vanavāsas tvām anṛṇo jagatīpateḥ |
Punar drakṣyāmi mātrā ca pitrā ca saha samgataḥ ॥2-50-3॥
Translation
"Having completed my exile and becoming free from the debt to the Lord of the Earth (the King), I shall see you again, reunited with my mother and father."

"वनवास समाप्त होने पर, जगत-स्वामी (राजा दशरथ) के ऋण से मुक्त होकर, मैं माता और पिता के साथ मिलकर तुम्हें पुनः देखूंगा।"
English Commentary
The keyword here is anṛṇo (debt-free). Rama views this exile as a transaction of honor—repaying the debt he owes to his father, the King (Jagatīpateḥ), by upholding the King's truth. He envisions a hopeful future where he returns to see the city alongside both his parents. This optimism is tragic for the reader, who knows King Dasharatha will not survive the separation. It highlights Rama’s innocence and his unwavering commitment to family unity, even while being cast out.
