Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
अर्चिताः चैव हृष्टाः च भवता सर्वथा वयम् ।
पद्भ्याम् अभिगमाच् चैव स्नेह सम्दर्शनेन च ॥ ॥२-५०-४१॥
arcitāḥ caiva hṛṣṭāḥ ca bhavatā sarvathā vayam । padbhyām abhigamāc caiva sneha samdarśanena ca ॥ ॥2-50-41॥
Translation
We are fully honored and delighted by you in every way, by your coming on foot to meet us and by your display of affection.
हिंदी अनुवाद
(श्री राम ने कहा) हम आपके द्वारा सब प्रकार से सत्कार पा चुके और प्रसन्न हैं, क्योंकि आप (एक राजा होकर भी) पैदल चलकर हमारे पास आए और आपने इतना स्नेह प्रदर्शित किया।
English Commentary
Rama displays his gracious nature by prioritizing the effort and emotion of the giver over the material gifts. He specifically highlights that Guha walked on foot (padbhyam) to greet him. In royal protocol, kings do not usually walk to meet others; Guha breaking this protocol showed his immense humility and respect. Rama acknowledges this gesture as the highest form of worship (archita). This reinforces the spiritual principle that God values the devotee's sincere intent and love more than grand material offerings.

श्री राम यहाँ भौतिक वस्तुओं (भोजन, राज्य) से अधिक महत्व 'भाव' और 'चेष्टा' को दे रहे हैं। गुह एक राजा थे, फिर भी वे रथ या पालकी पर न आकर, राम के सम्मान में पैदल (पद्भ्याम्) चलकर आए। राम ने इसे ही सबसे बड़ा सत्कार माना। भगवान राम यहाँ सिखाते हैं कि प्रेम में औपचारिकताओं और उपहारों से अधिक मूल्य 'विनम्रता' और 'स्नेह' का होता है। उन्होंने गुह द्वारा लाई गई सामग्री को स्वीकार करने से पहले ही उनके प्रेम को स्वीकार कर लिया।
