भुजाभ्याम् साधु वृत्ताभ्याम् पीडयन् वाक्यम् अब्रवीत् ।
दिष्ट्या त्वाम् गुह पश्यामिअरोगम् सह बान्धवैः ॥ ॥२-५०-४२॥
bhujābhyām sādhu vṛttābhyām pīḍayan vākyam abravīt । diṣṭyā tvām guha paśyāmiarogam saha bāndhavaiḥ ॥ ॥2-50-42॥
Translation
Squeezing (embracing) him tightly with his well-rounded arms, Rama spoke: "O Guha, by good fortune, I see you healthy along with your kinsmen."

अपनी सुडौल और बलिष्ठ भुजाओं से गुह को (गाढ़) आलिंगन करते हुए राम ने कहा - "हे गुह! सौभाग्य से मैं तुम्हें तुम्हारे बांधवों सहित निरोग देख रहा हूँ।"
English Commentary

Rama embraces Guha tightly (pidayan - lit. pressing/squeezing), breaking the strict caste and social hierarchies of the time. The term sadhu vrittabhyam describes Rama's arms as well-rounded/perfect, symbolizing his strength and capacity to protect and embrace all. By asking about Guha's health and family first, Rama shows that his concern is personal and affectionate, cementing their bond as intimate friends rather than just political allies.
