तथा विलपताम् तेषामतृप्तानाम् च राघवः ।
अचक्षुरिषयम् प्रायाद्यथार्कः क्षणदामुखे ॥ ॥२-५०-७॥
Tathā vilapatām teṣām atṛptānām ca rāghavaḥ |
Acakṣurviṣayam prāyād yathārkaḥ kṣaṇadāmukhe ॥2-50-7॥
Translation
While they were thus weeping and still unsatisfied (with gazing at him), Raghava went out of the range of their sight, like the sun at the onset of night.

इस प्रकार विलाप करते हुए और दर्शन से अतृप्त उन लोगों के देखते-देखते राघव उसी प्रकार आँखों से ओझल हो गए, जैसे संध्या के समय सूर्य अस्त हो जाता है।
English Commentary
The simile compares Rama’s departure to the setting sun (arkaḥ) at the onset of night (kṣaṇadāmukhe). This implies that with Rama gone, a metaphorical darkness descends upon the people of Kosala. The word atṛptānām (unsatisfied) highlights that the eyes of love are never satiated; no matter how long they looked at him, it wasn't enough. It marks the finality of the separation—the light of the dynasty has officially set beyond the horizon.
हिंदी टीका
उपमा 'यथार्कः क्षणदामुखे' (जैसे रात्रि के मुख पर सूर्य) अत्यंत सटीक है। सूर्य के अस्त होने से जैसे अन्धकार छा जाता है, वैसे ही राम (सूर्यवंश के वंशज) के ओझल होने से प्रजा के जीवन में अंधकार छा गया। 'अतृप्तानाम्' शब्द बताता है कि भक्त कभी भी अपने आराध्य के दर्शन से तृप्त नहीं होता। राम का जाना केवल एक यात्री का जाना नहीं, बल्कि कोसल की 'ज्योति' का जाना है।
