Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
यद् यद् आज्ञापयेत् किम्चित् स महात्मा मही पतिः ।
कैकेय्याः प्रिय काम अर्थम् कार्यम् तत् अविकान्क्षया ॥२-५२-२४॥
yad yad ājñāpayet kimcit sa mahātmā mahī patiḥ |
kaikeyīyāḥ priya kāma artham kāryam tat avikānkṣayā ॥2-52-24॥
Translation
Whatever that great-souled Lord of the Earth commands for the sake of pleasing Kaikeyi, that must be done without hesitation.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वे महात्मा नरेश कैकेयी को प्रसन्न करने के लिए जो कुछ भी आज्ञा दें, तुम उसे बिना किसी शंका या हिचकिचाहट के पूरा करना।
English Commentary
This verse represents the zenith of Rama’s devotion to his father. Despite Kaikeyi being the instrument of his exile, Rama is adamant that his father’s integrity remains intact. He instructs Sumantra that any order Dasharatha gives to please Kaikeyi must be executed 'avikānkṣayā'—without hesitation or scrutiny. Rama anticipates that the ministers might resist orders that favor Kaikeyi given the unpopularity of the exile. However, Rama forbids such resistance. His primary goal is to ensure that Dasharatha fulfills his obligations to Kaikeyi completely. Rama is effectively suppressing any potential coup or administrative rebellion on his behalf, prioritizing his father's honor over political expediency or justice for himself.

यह श्लोक राम के 'पितृ-भक्त' स्वरूप की पराकाष्ठा है। यद्यपि कैकेयी के कारण राम को वनवास मिला है, फिर भी राम चाहते हैं कि उनके पिता का वचन झूठा न हो। राम सुमन्त्र को निर्देश देते हैं कि यदि दशरथ कैकेयी को खुश करने के लिए कोई भी आदेश दें (चाहे वह कितना भी अप्रिय क्यों न हो), तो मंत्रीगण उसका विरोध न करें। 'अविकान्क्षया' (बिना शंका के) शब्द महत्वपूर्ण है। राम नहीं चाहते कि सुमन्त्र या अन्य मंत्री राजा के निर्णयों पर प्रश्न उठाएं या विद्रोह करें। राम का उद्देश्य यह सुनिश्चित करना है कि कैकेयी संतुष्ट रहें और राजा दशरथ सत्यवादी बने रहें, चाहे इसके लिए राम को या राज्य को कितना भी कष्ट क्यों न उठाना पड़े।
