Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
एवम् उक्त्वा तु राजानम् मातरम् च सुमन्त्र मे ।
अन्याः च देवीः सहिताः कैकेयीम् च पुनः पुनः ॥२-५२-३०॥
evam uktvā tu rājānam mātaram ca sumantra me |
anyāḥ ca devīḥ sahitāḥ kaikeyīm ca punaḥ punaḥ ॥2-52-30॥
Translation
Having spoken thus to the King, O Sumantra, speak also to my mother, to the other queens together, and to Kaikeyi again and again.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे सुमन्त्र! राजा से, मेरी माता (कौशल्या) से, अन्य सभी रानियों से और विशेष रूप से कैकेयी से भी बार-बार मेरा यह संदेश कहना।
English Commentary
Rama’s magnanimity shines brightly here. He sends his regards not only to his biological mother Kausalya and the other queens like Sumitra but explicitly mentions Kaikeyi. The instruction to speak to Kaikeyi 'punaḥ punaḥ' (again and again) is significant. A lesser man might harbor resentment toward the architect of his exile, but Rama goes out of his way to ensure Kaikeyi feels included and respected. He wants to assure her that he holds no grudge. By doing so, Rama attempts to prevent domestic strife in his absence, signaling to the household that if the exiled prince respects Kaikeyi, no one else has the right to treat her with contempt.

राम की महानता इस श्लोक में स्पष्ट झलकती है। वे न केवल अपनी सगी माँ कौशल्या और अन्य माताओं (सुमित्रा आदि) को प्रणाम भेज रहे हैं, बल्कि 'कैकेयीम् च पुनः पुनः' (और कैकेयी को बार-बार) संदेश देने को कह रहे हैं। सामान्यतः जिसे वनवास दिया गया हो, वह अपनी सौतेली माँ से घृणा करेगा, परन्तु राम विशेष रूप से यह सुनिश्चित करना चाहते हैं कि कैकेयी को यह न लगे कि राम उनसे नाराज हैं। 'पुनः पुनः' का अर्थ है कि कैकेयी को विशेष आदर और आश्वासन दिया जाए। राम परिवार में विखंडन नहीं चाहते; वे चाहते हैं कि उनके जाने के बाद भी रानियों में प्रेम बना रहे और कैकेयी को कोई दोषी न ठहराए।
