प्रविविक्तम् अहम् मन्ये तम् वासम् भवतः सुखम् ।
इह वा वन वासाय वस राम मया सह ॥ ॥२-५४-३२॥
Praviviktam aham manye tam vāsam bhavataḥ sukham । Iha vā vana vāsāya vasa Rāma mayā saha ॥ ॥2-54-32॥
Translation
I consider that solitary place to be a comfortable residence for you. Or, O Rama, reside here with me to fulfill your forest exile.
हिंदी अनुवाद
मैं मानता हूँ कि वह एकांत स्थान आपके निवास के लिए सुखद होगा। अथवा, हे राम! वनवास की अवधि पूरी करने के लिए आप यहीं मेरे साथ निवास करें।
English Commentary
Sage Bharadwaja offers a choice, displaying both his wisdom and his affection. He validates Chitrakuta as Praviviktam—very secluded and distinct, fitting Rama's request for solitude. However, his affection compels him to offer an alternative: staying right there in Prayaga at his ashram. This duality shows the sage's hospitality; he provides the requested information but leaves the door open for Rama to stay under his direct care. It emphasizes that while the forest is harsh, the support of the sages is always available to the righteous scion of Raghu.

भरद्वाज मुनि की उदारता और श्रीराम के प्रति प्रेम यहाँ झलकता है। यद्यपि उन्होंने चित्रकूट की महिमा गाई और उसे 'प्रविविक्तम्' (अत्यंत एकांत/पवित्र) बताया, फिर भी वे श्रीराम का सानिध्य खोना नहीं चाहते। वे विकल्प देते हैं: या तो चित्रकूट जाएँ, या प्रयाग में उन्हीं के आश्रम में रहें। एक ओर वे श्रीराम की 'एकांत' की इच्छा का सम्मान करते हैं, और दूसरी ओर 'अतिथि देवो भव' की परंपरा का निर्वाह करते हुए उन्हें अपने पास रोकने का आग्रह भी करते हैं। यह संवाद गुरु की ममता और शिष्य की स्वतंत्रता के बीच का सुंदर संतुलन है।
