रात्र्याम् तु तस्याम् व्युष्टायाम् भरद्वाजो अब्रवीद् इदम् ।
मधु मूल फल उपेतम् चित्र कूटम् व्रज इति ह ॥ ॥२-५४-३८॥
Rātryām tu tasyām vyuṣṭāyām Bharadvājo abravīd idam । Madhu mūla phala upetam Citra kūṭam vraja iti ha ॥ ॥2-54-38॥
Translation
When that night had passed, Bharadwaja said this: 'Go to Chitrakuta, which is endowed with honey, roots, and fruits.'

उस रात्रि के बीत जाने पर (प्रातःकाल), भरद्वाज मुनि ने यह कहा: "शहद, कंद और फलों से संपन्न चित्रकूट को जाओ।"
English Commentary
Accepting Rama’s resolve to leave, Sage Bharadwaja gives his final benediction and directive: 'Go to Chitrakuta.' Crucially, he adds a practical descriptor: the place is rich in 'honey, roots, and fruits.' This is not merely a scenic description but vital survival information for the exiles. By assuring them of food availability, the sage alleviates a primary anxiety of forest life. The particle iti ha (so it was said) marks the conclusion of this specific instruction. With this, the sage blesses their journey, confirming that Chitrakuta is physically sustainable as well as spiritually potent.

भरद्वाज मुनि श्रीराम की दृढ़ता देखकर उन्हें विदा देते हैं। वे उन्हें पुनः चित्रकूट जाने का आदेश देते हैं, लेकिन इस बार एक व्यावहारिक आश्वासन के साथ। वे कहते हैं कि चित्रकूट 'मधु मूल फल उपेतम्' है—अर्थात वहाँ शहद, कंद और फल प्रचुर मात्रा में हैं। वनवासियों के लिए भोजन की सुरक्षा सबसे बड़ी चिंता होती है। ऋषि का यह वचन श्रीराम को आश्वस्त करता है कि वहां जीवन निर्वाह संभव होगा। 'व्रज' (जाओ) शब्द में एक गुरु का आदेश और आशीर्वाद दोनों सम्मिलित हैं। यह प्रस्थान श्रीराम के वनवास के अगले चरण का आरंभ है।
