चरताः सीतया सार्धम् नन्दिष्यति मनस्तव ।
प्रहृष्ट कोयष्टिक कोकिल स्वनैः ।
र्विनादितम् तम् वसुधा धरम् शिवम् ।
मृगैः च मत्तैः बहुभिः च कुन्जरैः ।
सुरम्यम् आसाद्य समावस आश्रमम् ॥ ॥२-५४-४३॥
Carataḥ Sītayā sārdham nandiṣyati manastava । Prahṛṣṭa koyaṣṭika kokila svanaiḥ । Vināditam tam vasudhā dharam śivam । Mṛgaiḥ ca mattaiḥ bahubhiḥ ca kunjaraiḥ । Suramyam āsādya samāvasa āśramam ॥ ॥2-54-43॥
Translation
Wandering there with Sita, your mind will rejoice. That auspicious mountain echoes with the sounds of joyful lapwings and cuckoos, and abounds with intoxicated deer and many elephants. Having reached that very delightful place, establish your hermitage.
हिंदी अनुवाद
सीता के साथ वहां विचरण करते हुए तुम्हारा मन प्रसन्न होगा। वह पर्वत (वसुधाधर) प्रहृष्ट (मस्त) टिटिहरी (कोयष्टिक) और कोयलों की आवाज़ से गूँजता रहता है, तथा बहुत से मतवाले मृगों और हाथियों से युक्त है। उस कल्याणकारी (शिवम्) और अत्यंत रमणीय पर्वत पर पहुंचकर तुम अपना आश्रम बनाओ।
English Commentary

The focus is on domestic happiness amidst nature; the sage assures Rama that wandering with Sita (Sitaya sardham) will bring him joy, countering the gloom of exile. The soundscape includes the Koyashtika (lapwing) and Kokila (cuckoo). The instruction is explicit: Samavasa ashramam (make your dwelling/ashram there). It is a blessing that their life in the forest, though hard, will be filled with the auspiciousness (Shivam) of nature's company.

यह ५४वें सर्ग का अंतिम श्लोक है (संभवतः 'प्रहर्षिणी' या 'वसंततिलका' जैसे बड़े छंद में)। यहाँ ऋषि भरद्वाज भावनात्मक पहलू पर जोर देते हैं: 'नन्दिष्यति मनस्तव' (तुम्हारा मन आनंदित होगा)। वनवास का कष्ट सीता के साथ विहार करने और प्रकृति के संगीत (कोयल और टिटिहरी के स्वर) को सुनने से कम हो जाएगा। पर्वत को 'शिवम्' (कल्याणकारी) कहा गया है। अंतिम निर्देश 'समावस आश्रमम्' (आश्रम बसाओ) है, जो ऋषि की अंतिम मुहर है कि यही स्थान उनके लिए सर्वश्रेष्ठ है।
