लक्ष्मण आनय दारूणि दृढानि च वराणि च ।
कुरुष्व आवसथम् सौम्य वासे मे अभिरतम् मनः ॥ ॥२-५६-१९॥
Lakṣmaṇa ānaya dārūṇi dṛḍhāni ca varāṇi ca । Kuruṣva āvasatham saumya vāse me abhiratam manaḥ ॥ ॥2-56-19॥
Translation
O Lakshmana, bring strong and excellent timber. Construct a dwelling, O gentle one, for my mind is set on residing here.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे लक्ष्मण! मजबूत (दृढानि) और उत्तम (वराणि) लकड़ियाँ ले आओ। हे सौम्य! एक कुटिया (आवसथम्) का निर्माण करो, क्योंकि यहाँ निवास करने में मेरा मन लग गया है।
English Commentary
Rama gives clear, architectural instructions. He specifies the quality of materials needed: dārūṇi dṛḍhāni (strong timber) and varāṇi (select/excellent quality), indicating the need for a structure that can withstand the elements and wildlife. The command Kuruṣva āvasatham (make a house) delegates the physical construction to Lakshmana. Rama's statement that his mind is "delighted/intent" (abhiratam) on living there serves as the foundational blessing for the new home.

राम यहाँ वास्तुशिल्पी और गृहस्वामी की भूमिका में हैं। वे लक्ष्मण को स्पष्ट निर्देश देते हैं कि लकड़ियाँ कैसी होनी चाहिए—'दृढानि' (मजबूत) और 'वराणि' (श्रेष्ठ)। वे कामचलाऊ नहीं, बल्कि सुरक्षित और टिकाऊ निवास चाहते हैं। 'कुरुष्व' (करो/बनाओ) एक सीधा आदेश है। 'मे अभिरतम् मनः' (मेरा मन लग गया है) यह दर्शाता है कि राम की मानसिक स्वीकृति (Psychological acceptance) ही अंतिम मोहर है। जब तक मन शांत और स्थिर न हो, किसी स्थान पर रुकना व्यर्थ है।
