एकयामावशिष्टायां रात्र्यां प्रतिविबुध्य सः ।
अलञ्कारविधिं कृत्स्नं कारयामास वेश्मनः ॥२-६-५॥

Translation
When only one Yāma (a quarter, or about three hours) of the night remained, he (Śrī Rāma) woke up and caused the entire process of decorating the palace (or the city) to be carried out.

जब रात्रि का एक पहर (तीन घंटे) शेष रह गया, तब वे (श्री राम) जाग उठे, और उन्होंने राजमहल (अयोध्या) के सम्पूर्ण सजावट के कार्य को सम्पन्न करवाया।
English Commentary
This śloka from Ayodhyā Kāṇḍa, Sarga 6, marks the energetic beginning of the day set for Crown Prince Śrī Rāma's coronation. After a night spent in austerity and meditation in Viṣṇu's temple, the verse states that he woke up (prativibudhya saḥ) when only one Yāma (the last quarter, approximately three hours) of the night remained. Waking up in the Brahma Muhūrta (pre-dawn period) after religious rites is considered highly auspicious. Immediately upon waking, instead of tending to personal comfort, he caused the entire decoration process (alaṅkāravidhiṃ kṛtsnaṃ) of the palace (or the city, veśmanaḥ) to be carried out (kārayāmāsa). This preparation was essential for the magnificent scale and auspiciousness of the coronation ceremony. His act of causing the decoration shows his active involvement in the management and execution of the grand event. The verse highlights Śrī Rāma's dutifulness (kartavya), his acute awareness of time, and his focused enthusiasm for the sacred task ahead, demonstrating his preparedness not just spiritually but also practically for assuming the throne.
