Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
रामम् हि लक्ष्मनम् वापि पृष्ट्वा जानाति जानती ।
अयोध्याक्रोशमात्रे तु विहारमिव सम्श्रिता ॥ ॥२-६०-१३॥
Rāmam hi lakṣmanam vāpi pṛṣṭvā jānāti jānatī । Ayodhyākrośamātre tu vihāramiva samśritā ॥ ॥2-60-13॥
Translation
Whatever she does not know, she asks Rama or Lakshmana and learns of it. It seems as though she is merely enjoying a pleasure stroll in a garden just outside Ayodhya.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वह (सीता) जो कुछ भी नहीं जानतीं, वह राम अथवा लक्ष्मण से पूछकर जान लेती हैं। ऐसा प्रतीत होता है मानो वह अयोध्या के समीप ही किसी उद्यान में विहार (सैर) कर रही हों।
English Commentary
Sumantra uses the metaphor of a "Vihara" (pleasure trip/picnic) to describe Sita’s experience. He suggests that her journey feels no different than a short excursion to the gardens on the outskirts of Ayodhya. By asking questions to Rama and Lakshmana, she maintains a sense of normalcy and family bonding. This imagery is intended to comfort Kausalya, suggesting that the hardships of the forest have not yet touched Sita’s spirit.

सुमंत्र का उद्देश्य माता कौशल्या के दुःख को कम करना है। वह कहते हैं कि सीता को वनवास का कष्ट अनुभव नहीं हो रहा है। राम और लक्ष्मण उनके रक्षक और मार्गदर्शक हैं। जिस प्रकार राजमहल के उद्यानों में वह निर्भय होकर घूमती थीं, वैसे ही वह वन में भी विहार कर रही हैं। 'विहारमिव' शब्द का प्रयोग यह बताता है कि सीता ने परिस्थिति को स्वीकार कर लिया है और वह प्रसन्नचित्त हैं।
