विधूय शोकम् परिहृष्ट मानसा ।
महर्षि याते पथि सुव्यवस्थिताः ।
वने रता वन्य फल अशनाः पितुः ।
शुभाम् प्रतिज्ञाम् परिपालयन्ति ते ॥ ॥२-६०-२२॥
Vidhūya śokam parihṛṣṭa mānasā । Maharṣi yāte pathi suvyavasthitāḥ । Vane ratā vanya phala aśanāḥ pituḥ । Śubhām pratijñām paripālayanti te ॥ ॥2-60-22॥
Translation
Casting away grief, with cheerful minds, they are well-established on the path trodden by great sages. Delighting in the forest and eating wild fruits, they are fulfilling the auspicious vow of their father.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वे शोक को त्यागकर, प्रसन्न मन से महर्षियों द्वारा बताए गए मार्ग पर भली-भांति स्थित हैं। वे वन में रम गए हैं, वन के फल खाते हैं और अपने पिता की शुभ प्रतिज्ञा का पालन कर रहे हैं।
English Commentary
This concluding verse summarizes the exiles' state: they are mentally cheerful, physically adapted (eating wild fruits), and morally resolute. They are walking the path of sages ("Maharshi yate pathi"), implying spiritual growth. Sumantra emphasizes that they are not victims, but active participants in fulfilling a holy vow ("Shubham pratijnam"). This is the final reassurance to Kausalya that her son is righteous, happy, and firmly on the path of Dharma.
