Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
नन्वसौ काञ्चनैर्बाणैर्महावीर्यो महाभुजः ।
युगान्त इव भूतानि सागरानपि निर्दहेत् ॥२-६१-२१॥
Nanvasau kāñcanairbāṇairmahāvīryo mahābhujaḥ |
Yugānta iva bhūtāni sāgarānapi nirdahet ॥2-61-21॥
Translation
Indeed, could not that mighty-armed one, possessor of great valor, burn up all beings and even the oceans with his golden arrows, like the fire at the end of the age? (He certainly could).
हिंदी अनुवाद
क्या वह महावीर्यवान और विशाल भुजाओं वाला राम अपने सोने के (पंख वाले) बाणों से प्रलयकाल (युगान्त) की तरह समस्त प्राणियों और सागरों को भी भस्म नहीं कर सकता? (अवश्य कर सकता है)।
English Commentary
Kausalya asks a rhetorical question to affirm Rama's destructive potential. She invokes the imagery of Yuganta (the cosmic dissolution) to describe what Rama could do with his golden arrows. Burning the oceans represents an impossible feat, yet Rama is capable of it. This serves to amplify the tragedy: a warrior of cosmic power is meekly accepting exile, not out of weakness, but out of respect for a father who has betrayed him.

यहाँ राम की विध्वंसक क्षमता का वर्णन है। 'काञ्चनैर्बाणै' (स्वर्ण बाणों से) और 'युगान्त' (प्रलय) का रूपक उनकी शक्ति की सीमाहीनता को दर्शाता है। वह सागरों को सुखा सकते हैं और सृष्टि का नाश कर सकते हैं। कौसल्या दशरथ को याद दिला रही हैं कि उन्होंने किस स्तर के वीर पुत्र का निरादर किया है। यह एक चेतावनी भी है कि राम की सौम्यता को उनकी असमर्थता न समझा जाए।
