Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
प्रतिबुद्धो मुहुर् तेन शोक उपहत चेतनः ।
अथ राजा दशरथः स चिन्ताम् अभ्यपद्यत ॥ ॥२-६३-१॥
Pratibuddho muhur tena śoka upahata cetanaḥ । Atha rājā daśarathaḥ sa cintām abhyapadyata ॥ ॥2-63-1॥
Translation
Waking up after a short while, with his consciousness struck by grief, King Dasharatha again fell into deep thought.
हिंदी अनुवाद
कुछ ही देर में राजा की नींद खुल गई। शोक से उनकी चेतना (बुद्धि) घायल थी। जागने पर राजा दशरथ पुनः गहरी चिंता में पड़ गए।
English Commentary
Grief denies deep rest. Dasharatha wakes up abruptly, his mind immediately assaulted by the reality of his loss (śoka upahata cetanaḥ). The momentary peace provided by sleep vanishes, replaced by a heavy, brooding contemplation. In the silence of the night, the King is forced to confront his thoughts without distraction, leading him toward the realization of karmic justice.
हिंदी टीका
शोकग्रस्त व्यक्ति को अधिक देर तक नींद नहीं आती। 'मुहुर्' (क्षण भर में) शब्द बताता है कि राजा का अंतर्मन इतना अशांत है कि नींद भी उन्हें राहत नहीं दे पा रही। जागते ही 'राम वनवास' का सत्य पुनः उनके सामने आ खड़ा हुआ। अंधेरे में लेटे हुए राजा का मस्तिष्क अब उन कारणों को खोजने लगा है कि आखिर उन्हें यह दंड क्यों मिल रहा है।
