तस्य तु आनम्यमानस्य तम् बाणम् अहम् उद्धरम् ।
तस्य त्वानम्यमानस्य तम् बाणामहमुद्धरम् ॥ ॥२-६३-५५॥
tasya tu ānamyamānasya tam bāṇam aham uddharam । tasya tvānamyamānasya tam bāṇamahamuddharam ॥ ॥2-63-55॥
Translation
From the body of that bowing (dying) boy, I pulled out that arrow.
हिंदी अनुवाद
(उसकी आज्ञा मानकर) मैंने उस झुकते हुए (मरणासन्न) बालक के शरीर से वह बाण निकाल दिया। [श्लोक में पंक्ति की पुनरावृत्ति है, जिसका अर्थ उस क्रिया की निश्चितता और तत्पश्चात मृत्यु की घटना को दर्शाता है।]
English Commentary
Dasharatha fulfills the boy's final wish. By extracting the arrow, he grants the boy relief from pain but simultaneously finalizes his death. The repetition in the verse (often found in recitations for emphasis) underscores the gravity of this specific action. This is the point of no return. Dasharatha is no longer just a hunter who made a mistake; he is now the direct agent of the boy's death, a memory that will torment him until his own end.

दशरथ ने अंततः वह कठोर निर्णय लिया। बालक के आग्रह पर उन्होंने बाण खींचा। 'आनम्यमानस्य' का अर्थ है वह जो नीचे झुक रहा है या गिर रहा है (मृत्यु की ओर)। बाण निकालते ही प्राण निकल गए। यह दशरथ के लिए एक अत्यंत कष्टकारी क्षण था, क्योंकि अपने हाथों से बाण निकालना मानो अपने हाथों से बालक के प्राण हरने जैसा था। यह क्रिया दशरथ के जीवन का सबसे भारी बोझ बन गई।
