स्थानम् अस्मि महत् प्राप्तः भवतोह् परिचारणात् ।
भवन्ताव् अपि च क्षिप्रम् मम मूलम् उपैष्यतः ॥ ॥२-६४-५०॥
Sthānam asmi mahat prāptaḥ bhavatoḥ paricāraṇāt । Bhavantāv api ca kṣipram mama mūlam upaiṣyataḥ ॥ ॥2-64-50॥
Translation
"I have attained this supreme state as a result of serving you both. You too shall soon come to my presence."

"आप दोनों की सेवा (परिचारणा) करने के फलस्वरूप मुझे यह महान स्थान (स्वर्ग) प्राप्त हुआ है। आप दोनों भी शीघ्र ही मेरे पास आ जाएंगे।"
English Commentary
The son explicitly credits his exaltation to bhavatoḥ paricāraṇāt (service rendered to you). This is the theological climax of the episode: service to parents yields the highest heaven. He then prophecies their imminent death and reunion (upaiṣyataḥ - will come near). While meant to comfort the parents that the separation is temporary, it confirms to Dasharatha the magnitude of his tragedy—he has effectively wiped out the entire family. The son’s promise of reunion makes the parents' subsequent death a liberation rather than a defeat.

यह श्लोक रामायण के केंद्रीय संदेशों में से एक को स्थापित करता है: 'मातृ देवो भव, पितृ देवो भव'। श्रवण कुमार स्पष्ट करते हैं कि उन्हें स्वर्ग किसी यज्ञ या तप से नहीं, बल्कि 'भवतोह् परिचारणात्' (आपकी सेवा से) मिला है। दूसरी पंक्ति में एक भविष्यवाणी है—'क्षिप्रम् मम मूलम् उपैष्यतः' (शीघ्र मेरे पास आओगे)। यह माता-पिता के लिए सुखद है क्योंकि उनका वियोग समाप्त होने वाला है, लेकिन दशरथ के लिए यह एक और भार है—वे जानते हैं कि उनके बाण ने केवल एक नहीं, बल्कि तीन प्राण लिए हैं। यह मिलन की आशा ही माता-पिता को प्राण त्यागने का साहस देती है।
