अथ रात्र्याम् व्यतीतायाम् प्रातर् एव अपरे अहनि ।
वन्दिनः पर्युपातिष्ठम्स् तत् पार्थिव निवेशनम् ॥ ॥२-६५-१॥
Atha rātryām vyatītāyām prātar eva apare ahani । Vandinaḥ paryupātiṣṭhamst tat pārthiva niveśanam ॥ ॥2-65-1॥
Translation
Then, after that night had passed, at the break of dawn on the next day, the bards (panegyrists) arrived at the King's palace.

तदनंतर वह (दुखद) रात्रि बीतने पर, अगले दिन प्रातःकाल होते ही वंदीजन (स्तुति-पाठक) राजा के महल में उपस्थित हुए।
English Commentary
The scene shifts with sharp dramatic irony. While death and silence reign inside the royal chambers, the outside world continues with its routine. The vandinaḥ (bards whose job is to wake the king with praise) arrive at dawn, completely unaware of the tragedy. This contrast between the catastrophic loss inside and the cheerful morning routine outside highlights the indifference of time to human grief. The palace (niveśanam) still looks like a royal residence to them, unaware it currently houses a corpse.

यहाँ से दृश्य में एक नाटकीय और व्यंग्यात्मक परिवर्तन (Dramatic Irony) आता है। अंदर राजा की मृत्यु हो चुकी है, शोक का सन्नाटा है, किन्तु बाहर नित्य नियम के अनुसार राजा को जगाने वाले वंदीजन आ चुके हैं। उन्हें राजा की मृत्यु का ज्ञान नहीं है। यह संसार की निष्ठुर गतिशीलता को दर्शाता है—एक तरफ मृत्यु है, और दूसरी तरफ सूर्योदय और दैनिक कार्य अपनी गति से चल रहे हैं। "पार्थिव निवेशनम्" का अर्थ है राजा का निवास, जो अब वस्तुत: एक शवगृह बन चुका है।
