व्याहृताः पुण्य्शब्दाश्च वीणानाम् चापि निस्स्वनाः ।
आशीर्गेयम् च गाथानाम् पूरयामास वेश्म तत ॥ ॥२-६५-६॥
Vyāhṛtāḥ puṇyaśabdāśca vīṇānām cāpi nissvanāḥ । Āśīrgeyam ca gāthānām pūrayāmāsa veśma tata ॥ ॥2-65-6॥
Translation
Then, the utterance of holy words (scriptural recitations), the resonance of Vinas (lutes), and the singing of benedictory ballads filled the palace.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तब 'जय-जयकार' के पवित्र शब्दों, वीणाओं की मधुर ध्वनियों और आशीर्वाद युक्त गाथाओं के गायन ने उस महल को भर दिया।
English Commentary
The palace is flooded with sound: puṇyaśabdā (auspicious chants), vīṇā notes, and āśīrgeyam (songs of benediction/blessing). The singers are wishing for the King's welfare and long life. The accumulation of these auspicious sounds creates a sensory overload that stands in stark opposition to the reality of death. The irony reaches its peak—the King is dead, yet his house is filled with the music of life and blessings.

महल अब ध्वनियों से गूंज रहा है। "पुण्य-शब्द" (वेदमंत्र या जयकार), "वीणा-निस्स्वन" (वाद्य यंत्रों की तान) और "आशीर्गेयम्" (दीर्घायु की कामना वाले गीत)। यह सब मिलकर एक "संगीतमय श्रद्धांजलि" जैसा लग रहा है, पर यह श्रद्धांजलि नहीं, बल्कि अज्ञानता में किया गया नित्यकर्म है। आशीर्वाद के गीत उस राजा के लिए गाए जा रहे हैं जिसे अब किसी आशीर्वाद की आवश्यकता नहीं है। यह दृश्य विधाता का एक क्रूर मजाक सा प्रतीत होता है।
