कैकेय्या दुष्टभावाया राघवेण वियोजिताः ।
कथम् पतिघ्न्या वत्स्यामः समीपे विधवा वयम् ॥ ॥२-६६-१९॥
Kaikeyyā duṣṭabhāvāyā rāghaveṇa viyojitāḥ । Katham patighnyā vatsyāmaḥ samīpe vidhavā vayam ॥ ॥2-66-19॥
Translation
"Separated from Rama by the wicked-natured Kaikeyi, how shall we, now widows, live near that husband-slayer?"

दुष्ट स्वभाव वाली कैकेयी ने हमें राम से अलग कर दिया। अब हम विधवा होकर उस पतिघातिनी (पति की हत्या करने वाली) के पास कैसे रहेंगी?
English Commentary
This verse reveals the intense anger and fear the other queens harbor toward Kaikeyi. They explicitly label her as "Patighni" (husband-slayer), holding her directly responsible for Dasharatha’s death due to her obstinacy. It is a harsh and condemnatory term reflecting their bitterness. Their distress is compounded by the terrifying prospect of the future: not only are they widows, but they are also faced with the reality of living under the rule of the very woman who destroyed their family and separated them from Rama. It sets the stage for the internal conflict within the palace.
