न अराजके जन पदे वाहनैः शीघ्र गामिभिः ।
नरा निर्यान्ति अरण्यानि नारीभिः सह कामिनः ॥ ॥२-६७-१८॥
Na arājake jana pade vāhanaiḥ śīghra gāmibhiḥ । Narā niryānti araṇyāni nārībhiḥ saha kāminaḥ ॥ ॥2-67-18॥
Translation
In a kingless country, pleasure-seeking men do not go out to the forests with their women on fast-moving vehicles.
हिंदी अनुवाद
अराजक देश में विलासी पुरुष अपनी स्त्रियों के साथ तीव्रगामी वाहनों पर बैठकर वनों (सैर-सपाटे) के लिए नहीं निकलते।
English Commentary
This verse touches upon leisure travel and the safety of the hinterlands. Under a strong King, even the forests ("Aranyani") are safe enough for couples to visit for pleasure trips on fast vehicles. This implies a high standard of living and secure highways. In an Arājaka state, the protection of the state does not extend beyond the city walls (if even there), making travel dangerous. The joy of exploration and romance is curtailed by the fear of highwaymen.

यहाँ पर्यटन और विलासिता पर प्रभाव का वर्णन है। राजा के शासन में, जंगल भी सुरक्षित होते हैं, जहाँ प्रेमी युगल ('कामिनः') घूमने जाते हैं। 'शीघ्र गामिभिः वाहनैः' (तेज चलने वाले वाहनों/रथों) से पता चलता है कि अयोध्या का अवसंरचना (Infrastructure) और जीवनस्तर उच्च था। लेकिन राजा के बिना, नगर के बाहर की सड़कें और वन असुरक्षित हो जाते हैं। लुटेरों और जंगली जानवरों का भय मनोरंजन के लिए की जाने वाली यात्राओं को बंद कर देता है।
