राजा सत्यम् च धर्मश्च राजा कुलवताम् कुलम् ।
राजा माता पिता चैव राजा हितकरो नृणाम् ॥२-६७-३४॥
rājā satyam ca dharmaśca rājā kulavatām kulam |
rājā mātā pitā caiva rājā hitakaro nṛṇām ॥2-67-34॥
Translation
The King is Truth, the King is Dharma, and the King is the pedigree of those of high lineage. The King is the mother, the King is the father, and the King is the benefactor of men.

राजा ही सत्य है, राजा ही धर्म है, राजा ही कुलीन लोगों का कुल (प्रतिष्ठा) है। राजा ही माता है, राजा ही पिता है और राजा ही मनुष्यों का हितकारी है।
English Commentary
This serves as the emotional and philosophical climax of the argument. It summarizes the totality of the Monarch's role. He is not just a political head but the embodiment of cosmic order (Satya/Dharma) and the sociological anchor (Family/Lineage). By calling the King "Mother and Father," the verse invokes the doctrine of Parens Patriae—the King as the ultimate parent of the citizenry. The ministers conclude that human welfare is entirely dependent on the King, urging Vasistha to end the dangerous interregnum immediately.

यह सर्ग का निष्कर्ष (Culmination) है। मंत्रियों ने अपनी बात समाप्त करते हुए राजा को सर्वोपरि स्थान दिया है। राजा को माता-पिता कहने का अर्थ है कि प्रजा अनाथ बच्चों के समान है जिनका पालन-पोषण राजा करता है। वह 'कुलवताम् कुलम्' है—अर्थात समाज की सारी प्रतिष्ठा राजा के होने से है। यह श्लोक "नराधिप" (नरेश) में देवत्व और अभिभावकत्व (Guardianship) का आरोपण करता है। इस अंतिम तर्क के साथ वे वशिष्ठ जी से आग्रह करते हैं कि इक्ष्वाकु वंश का कोई उत्तराधिकारी तुरंत गद्दी पर बैठाया जाए।
