अवदीर्णाम् च पृथिवीम् शुष्कामः च विविधान् द्रुमान् ।
अहम् पश्यामि विध्वस्तान् सधूमामः चैव पार्वतान् ॥ ॥२-६९-१३॥
Avadīrṇām ca pṛthivīm śuṣkāmaḥ ca vividhān drumān । Aham paśyāmi vidhvastān sadhūmāmaḥ caiva pārvatān ॥ ॥2-69-13॥
Translation
I saw the earth cracked open, various trees dried up, and the mountains shattered and emitting smoke.
हिंदी अनुवाद
मैंने पृथ्वी को फटी हुई, विभिन्न प्रकार के वृक्षों को सूखा हुआ, और पर्वतों को ध्वस्त होकर धुआं छोड़ते हुए देखा।
English Commentary
The cracking earth and collapsing mountains symbolize the loss of the foundational support of the kingdom. The King is often equated to the earth (sustainer) and the mountain (protector). Seeing them destroyed implies the protector is gone. The dried trees represent the withered state of the subjects and the family without their leader. The smoke rising from the mountains suggests the burning of funeral pyres, foreshadowing the cremation rites that await the King.

पृथ्वी का फटना और पर्वतों का गिरना आधार (Support system) के नष्ट होने को दर्शाता है। राजा प्रजा और परिवार के लिए पृथ्वी और पर्वत के समान आश्रयदाता होता है। वृक्षों का सूखना परिवार के अन्य सदस्यों (जैसे रानियों और राजकुमारों) के निस्तेज होने का संकेत है। यह दृश्य बता रहा है कि राजा के बिना पूरा राज्य और परिवार बिखर रहा है। यह स्वप्न अयोध्या की वर्तमान 'अनाथ' स्थिति का दर्पण है।
