पापेनानृतसान्त्वेन बाले नित्यं सुखोचिते ।
रामं स्थापयता राज्ये सानुबन्धा हता ह्यसि ॥ ॥२-७-२९॥
Pāpenānṛtasāntvena bāle nityaṃ sukhocite |
Rāmaṃ sthāpayatā rājye sānubandhā hatā hyasi ॥2-7-29॥
Translation
"O naive one, deserving of constant happiness! By installing Rama in the kingdom with deceitful comforts, that sinner has indeed destroyed you along with your kinsmen."

"हे सुख भोगने की योग्य भोली रानी! उस पापी ने झूठी सांत्वना देकर राम को राज्य में स्थापित करके, परिवार-सहित तुम्हारा नाश कर दिया है।"
English Commentary
Manthara delivers a verdict of total ruin. Calling Dasharatha a 'sinner' ('Pāpen'), she claims his false comforts ('Anṛtasāntvena') were a distraction for this final blow. The phrase 'Sānubandhā hatā' implies complete annihilation—not just of Kaikeyi, but of her lineage and supporters. Manthara equates Rama’s coronation with the death of Kaikeyi’s identity and future. She positions the event not as a family celebration, but as an existential threat to Kaikeyi's very survival and happiness.

मंथरा अब निष्कर्ष निकाल रही है। वह दशरथ को सीधे 'पापेन' (पापी) कहती है। 'अनृतसान्त्वेन' (झूठी तसल्ली) का आरोप फिर दोहराया गया है। 'सानुबन्धा हता' का अर्थ है कि कैकेयी का पूरा वंश, उसका प्रभाव और उसका भविष्य नष्ट हो चुका है। मंथरा अतिशयोक्ति का प्रयोग करती है—राम का राजा बनना कैकेयी की 'हत्या' या 'विनाश' के समान बताया जा रहा है। वह कैकेयी के मन में अस्तित्व का संकट (existential crisis) पैदा कर रही है।
