Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
एवम् उक्ताः तु ते दूता भरतेन महात्मना ।
ऊचुः सम्प्रश्रितम् वाक्यम् इदम् तम् भरतम् तदा ॥ ॥२-७०-११॥
Evam uktāḥ tu te dūtā bharatena mahātmanā । Ucuḥ sampraśritam vākyam idam tam bharatam tadā ॥ ॥2-70-11॥
Translation
Being addressed thus by the high-souled Bharata, the messengers spoke these humble words to Bharata at that time.
हिंदी अनुवाद
महात्मा भरत द्वारा इस प्रकार पूछे जाने पर, उन दूतों ने विनीत होकर भरत से यह बात कही।
English Commentary
The messengers are in a precarious position. They are bound by orders not to reveal the King's death, yet they cannot blatantly lie to their Prince. Their response is described as samprashritam (humble and respectful), indicating they must navigate this conversation with extreme tact to persuade Bharata to leave without causing him to collapse from grief immediately.

दूतों की स्थिति यहाँ बहुत नाजुक है। वे सत्य (राजा की मृत्यु) बता नहीं सकते क्योंकि वशिष्ठ जी का आदेश है, और झूठ बोलना धर्म के विरुद्ध है। इसलिए वे 'सम्प्रश्रितम्' (अत्यंत विनम्रता) के साथ उत्तर देते हैं। वे शब्दों का चयन बहुत सावधानी से करते हैं ताकि भरत का प्रश्न भी टल जाए और अशुभ समाचार भी न खुले।
