Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
भरतः च अपि तान् दूतान् एवम् उक्तः अभ्यभाषत ।
आपृच्चे अहम् महा राजम् दूताः सम्त्वरयन्ति माम् ॥ ॥२-७०-१३॥
Bharataḥ ca api tān dūtān evam uktaḥ abhyabhāṣata । Āpṛcce aham mahā rājam dūtāḥ samtvarayanti mām ॥ ॥2-70-13॥
Translation
Being addressed thus by the messengers, Bharata replied to them: "I shall take leave of the Great King (my grandfather), for the messengers are hurrying me."
हिंदी अनुवाद
दूतों द्वारा ऐसा कहे जाने पर भरत ने उनसे कहा—"मैं महाराज (नाना) से विदा मांगता हूँ, क्योंकि आप दूत लोग मुझे जल्दी कर रहे हैं।"
English Commentary
Bharata accepts the messengers' equivocations. The urgency shown by the messengers (dūtāḥ samtvarayanti) overrides his questions. He acts decisively. Instead of lingering or questioning further, he proceeds to formally ask for permission to leave from his grandfather, displaying his discipline and readiness to serve Ayodhya's call, whatever it may be.

भरत दूतों के अस्पष्ट उत्तर से संतुष्ट हो जाते हैं या कम से कम उन्हें विश्वास हो जाता है कि घर पर सब ठीक है। 'लक्ष्मी वरण कर रही है' सुनकर उन्हें लगा होगा कि शायद उनका राज्याभिषेक होने वाला है (जैसा दशरथ ने सोचा था)। वे कर्तव्यपरायणता दिखाते हुए तुरंत प्रस्थान का निर्णय लेते हैं और अपने नाना से अनुमति लेने जाते हैं।
