स स्ववेश्माभ्यतिक्रम्य नरनागश्वसम्वृतम् ।
प्रपेदे सुमहच्छ्रीमान् राजमार्गमनुत्तमम् ॥ ॥२-७०-२६॥
Sa svaveśmābhyatikramya naranāgaśvasamvṛtam |
Prapede sumahacchrīmān rājamārgamanuttamam ॥2-70-26॥
Translation
Having stepped out of his own dwelling, that glorious Bharata entered the immense and excellent royal highway, which was crowded with men, elephants, and horses.

वह श्रीमान (भरत) अपने भवन से निकलकर, मनुष्यों, हाथियों और घोड़ों से भरे हुए अत्यंत विशाल और उत्तम राजमार्ग पर आ गए।
English Commentary
This verse marks the transition from the private sphere to the public sphere. Leaving his personal quarters (svaveshma), Bharata steps onto the rajamarga (royal highway). The mention of crowds—men, elephants, and horses—indicates the scale of the retinue preparing to accompany him. It sets the scene of a grand, bustling royal exit rather than a quiet departure.

यह श्लोक भरत के प्रस्थान के प्रथम चरण का वर्णन करता है। 'स्ववेश्माभ्यतिक्रम्य' का अर्थ है अपने निजी कक्षों या महल से बाहर निकलना। महल के बाहर का दृश्य व्यस्तता से भरा है—सैनिक और नागरिक वहां उपस्थित हैं। यह दिखाता है कि राजकुमार की यात्रा कोई गुप्त घटना नहीं थी, बल्कि एक राजकीय प्रस्थान था जिसमें पूरी सेना और सेवक शामिल थे।
