इमानि च महार्हाणि वस्त्राण्Yआभरणानि च ।
प्रतिगृह्य विशालाक्ष मातुलस्य च दापय ॥ ॥२-७०-४॥
Imāni ca mahārhāṇi vastrāṇyābharaṇāni ca । Pratigṛhya viśālākṣa mātulasya ca dāpaya ॥ ॥2-70-4॥
Translation
O large-eyed Prince, accept these expensive garments and ornaments, and present them to your maternal uncle.

हे विशाल नेत्रों वाले राजकुमार! इन बहुमूल्य वस्त्रों और आभूषणों को स्वीकार करें और (इन्हें) अपने मामा को भेंट कर दें।
English Commentary
Even in the wake of a tragedy (which is kept secret), the protocol of gift-giving is maintained. The messengers bring expensive gifts for Bharata to present to his uncle. This serves a dual purpose: it maintains the prestige of Ayodhya and acts as a diplomatic softener for the abrupt recall of Bharata, ensuring the Kekeya royal family feels honored rather than slighted by the sudden departure.

विपत्ति के समय भी रघुकुल अपनी उदारता और संबंधों की गरिमा नहीं भूलता। दूत खाली हाथ नहीं आए हैं, बल्कि भरत के ननिहाल के लिए भारी उपहार लाए हैं। यह इसलिए भी आवश्यक था ताकि भरत को अचानक वापस ले जाने से उनके मामा या नाना को बुरा न लगे। यह एक राजनीतिक और पारिवारिक शिष्टाचार है ताकि विदा सुखद हो।
