Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
इति एवम् उक्त्वा भरतः सूतम् तम् दीन मानसः ।
तानि अनिष्टानि अयोध्यायाम् प्रेक्ष्य राज गृहम् ययौ ॥ ॥२-७१-४५॥
Iti evam uktvā bharataḥ sūtam tam dīna mānasaḥ । Tāni aniṣṭāni ayodhyāyām prekṣya rāja gṛham yayau ॥ ॥2-71-45॥
Translation
Having spoken thus to the charioteer, Bharata, with a dejected mind, observing those inauspicious signs in Ayodhya, proceeded towards the royal palace.

सारथी से इस प्रकार कहकर, दीन मन वाले भरत ने अयोध्या में उन अनिष्ट (अशुभ) लक्षणों को देखते हुए राजभवन (पिता के घर) की ओर प्रस्थान किया।
English Commentary
This verse marks the physical movement from the city streets to the epicenter of the tragedy. Bharata observes the aniṣṭāni (unwanted/inauspicious signs) and carries that weight with him as he approaches the King's palace. He goes directly to the Rāja gṛham (King's abode), driven by duty and anxiety. His title as a prince is overshadowed by his state as a worried son (dīna mānasaḥ - miserable minded). It sets the stage for the heartbreaking revelation that awaits him inside.

यह श्लोक एक संक्रमण (transition) है। भरत ने नगर का निरीक्षण पूरा कर लिया है और अब वे उस केंद्र बिंदु की ओर बढ़ रहे हैं जहाँ इस दुख का कारण छिपा है—राजमहल। 'दीन मानसः' उनके टूटे हुए मनोबल को दर्शाता है। वे जानते हैं कि कुछ बहुत बुरा हुआ है, बस पुष्टि होनी बाकी है। वे सीधे 'राज गृह' (राजा का घर) जा रहे हैं, न कि अपने निजी महल में, क्योंकि उनकी प्राथमिकता अपने पिता दशरथ के दर्शन करना और उनसे इस स्थिति का कारण पूछना है।
