Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
राज पुत्रः महा अरण्यम् अनभीक्ष्ण उपसेवितम् ।
भद्रः भद्रेण यानेन मारुतः खम् इव अत्ययात् ॥ ॥२-७१-८॥
Rāja putraḥ mahā araṇyam anabhīkṣṇa upasevitam |
Bhadraḥ bhadreṇa yānena mārutaḥ kham iva atyayāt ॥2-71-8॥
Translation
The noble Prince Bharata traversed that great forest, which was rarely visited by people, in his excellent vehicle, just as the wind traverses the sky.
हिंदी अनुवाद
भद्र (कल्याणकारी) राजपुत्र भरत ने उस महावन को, जहाँ लोगों का आना-जाना बहुत कम था (निर्जन), अपने श्रेष्ठ रथ (वाहन) से वैसे ही पार किया जैसे वायु आकाश को पार करती है।
English Commentary
Bharata's speed is compared to the wind ("marutah"), emphasizing the urgency of his return. The forest is described as "anabhikshna upasevitam" (rarely visited/inhabited), suggesting he took a direct, perhaps wilder route to save time, rather than sticking strictly to populated trade routes. The metaphor of wind in the sky implies a smooth yet incredibly swift passage despite the rugged terrain.

यहाँ भरत की गति की तुलना 'वायु' से की गई है, जो उनकी व्यग्रता को दर्शाता है। 'अनभीक्ष्ण उपसेवितम्' का अर्थ है ऐसा वन जहाँ आबादी न हो या रास्ता बहुत कठिन हो। भरत 'भद्र' (सज्जन) हैं, लेकिन परिस्थिति ने उन्हें वायु के समान वेगवान बना दिया है। यह उपमा दिखाती है कि उन्होंने कठिन रास्तों को बिना रुके तेजी से पार किया।
