राजवाक्यहरैर्दूतैस्त्वर्यमाणोऽहमागतः ।
यदहं प्रष्टुमिच्छामि तदम्बा वक्तुमर्हसि ॥२-७२-१०॥
rājavākyaharairdūtaistvaryamāṇo'hamāgataḥ |
yadahaṃ praṣṭumicchāmi tadambā vaktumarhasi ॥2-72-10॥
Translation
"Urged to make haste by the messengers bearing the King's orders, I have arrived. Now, O Mother, you must tell me what I wish to ask."
हिंदी अनुवाद
"राजा की आज्ञा लाने वाले दूतों द्वारा शीघ्रता करने के लिए प्रेरित किए जाने पर मैं (इतनी जल्दी) आया हूँ। अब मैं जो पूछना चाहता हूँ, हे माता! आप वह बताने की कृपा करें।"
English Commentary
The conversation shifts pivotally here. Bharata explicitly states that his haste was due to being tvaryamāṇo (hurried/urged) by the royal messengers. He implies that he knows something is urgent but doesn't know what. Having satisfied Kaikeyi's curiosity, he asserts his right to answers: "Now you must tell me." This marks the end of the pleasantries. Bharata is focused on the dissonance between the urgency of the summons and the strange silence of the capital. He prepares to ask the difficult questions regarding his father's whereabouts.

अब भरत अपनी बारी लेते हैं। वे स्पष्ट करते हैं कि उनका आगमन सामान्य नहीं है, बल्कि 'राजवाक्यहरैर्दूतैः' (राजा का संदेश लाने वाले दूतों) द्वारा 'त्वर्यमाणो' (शीघ्रता कराए जाने) के कारण हुआ है। अब वे भूमिका बदलते हैं और माता से कहते हैं कि अब उन्हें उत्तर चाहिए। यहाँ भरत के स्वर में एक आग्रह है। वे अब और सामान्य बातें नहीं करना चाहते। 'तदम्बा वक्तुमर्हसि' (वह माता बताने योग्य हैं/बताएं) में पुत्र का अधिकार और एक अनजाना भय दोनों समाहित हैं। यह श्लोक संवाद की दिशा को कुशल-क्षेम से गंभीर पूछताछ की ओर मोड़ता है।
